I am 24 years old, and I wish to share how I see the world and how I feel about everything in it.

Logging Museum

Recently, the town I now live in held a Moose Festival, and they opened up the museum they keep above the library. Not many people know about this museum because they only open it about two or three times a year, so I grabbed the chance and got a TON of pictures.

Below are some of my favorites from logging. Most of the crews and people you see are from Van Dyke’s group.

So…….I don’t know how many of you have had the lovely experience of having to pack, but it  sucks! And I only have one room to pack essentially. I can’t imagine what it must be like packing a whole house.

Anyway, a couple of tips that might be helpful….become best friends with your local grocer. We have a mom and pop deli down the road from us where I practically grew up, and they’ve given me countless boxes that I’ve been using for packing. VERY handy. 🙂

I finally found out that my cat gets to go with me too, which I’m super excited for! So not only do I have to pack my stuff but hers too now, lol. Her packing is easy, but moving her? Not so much….she’s one of those cats that will literally meow for the entire five hour drive, so someone suggested to me Benadryl……she literally sat there coughing until she coughed it up. So now I’m trying children’s benadryl liquid stuff. Any other suggestions??????????

More soon!!!!!!!!!!!!! And pics of the apartment too!!!! Five days til moving day! 🙂

First Step: Packing

Is anyone else shocked by the amount of crap you have when you start to pack? BECAUSE I AM!!!!! Seriously, I knew that I had a lot of stuff, I just didn’t realize how much until I started to go through everything.

I’m in the lucky situation of having a house in New York where I can keep the stuff that I don’t need/want to lug to Vermont-my parents are awesome. 🙂

So, the first thing I did was make a list of everything I could think of that I was going to need that I know is not already there.

Needless to say, it took me awhile, and it also took me the help of a mama bear. 🙂

One I had my list, I set to work on seeing what I had in my hope chest, and buying the rest of it. I decided early on that paper stuff/cleaning stuff I’m going to buy up there. (There’s a store nearby where I know I can get it cheap-but if you can get it cheaper then wherever you’re going, pch, save the cash!!!!)

Soooooo, I’ve started packing. 🙂 And yes, I’m not leaving until the 30th, so I’m QUITE proud of this accomplishment. 🙂

Luckily, I’m BFF’s with the owner of  a local deli, so he’s letting me take tomato and banana boxes…..very handy. 🙂 Also, I read online that it makes your life A LOT easier if everything is clearly labeled by room, so….

It says “Kitchen” for those of you who can’t see it.

Let the labeling and packing commence!!!! 🙂

Life Trip-VT

So…..I’ve always kind of wondered and pondered what my blog should be about (as everything in past posts kind of varies depending on current moods/topics/interest, etc.), and I found something to keep me busy for the next few months. About two or three months ago I received a significant promotion at work, which has been absolutely incredible! 🙂 However, the company I work for is small, and sadly, the owner’s just don’t care as much as they should…so, I will be moving on soon (my notice is going to be put in, in eleven days and counting.)

About two weeks ago, I got a job offer for a Lodge in Vermont, which I am taking. 🙂 I’m super excited because I’ve never lived on my own before (I’m not really counting Disney as I had three roommates), and it’s something completely different.

So, for the next few months my blog will concentrate on my new job, how it is living on my own, and hopefully I can give some advice (or at least some tips on what not to do) to other people moving out on their own for the first time.

Good luck movers!!!!

Daily Prompt: In the Summertime

Kayaking. Kayaking is one of my favorite summer time hobbies. (My aunt is a die-hard that will kayak even in the dead of winter-as long as there is water and no ice) I’m a normal person that only goes during the summer. 🙂

Driving the car with the windows all the way down…..that’s another thing that I’ve missed that I can’t wait to do again. I LOVE to drive, and my first trip is in two weeks, I’m really hoping the weather is going to be good enough for my windows being down. *fingers crossed*
