Last Place I Shopped

I actually don’t usually shop here, I was shopping for my brother who LOVES their jeans. Except, he’s freakishly tall, and they didn’t have his size, lol. Does that count as shopping??? XD

Every year our town does a tree lighting ceremony, and every year Santa comes, and everyone has such a great time. It’s always so much fun to see so many different people come together for this event. πŸ™‚

I know it seems like it was sepia coloring, but I promise it’s not. πŸ™‚ But it has a varnish on it (it’s from 1918, so it’s getting a little up there in age), and it has also been scanned numerous times. It’s a picture that my great grandfather took when he was at school here. πŸ™‚

X-Mas Tree

This year is the first time in YEARS that we decided to go with a real tree. My brother and I split the price, and off the two of us, along with Mama Bear went. πŸ™‚ We got to the tree place, Holland Hill Tree Farm in Ballston Spa, NY, and after we grabbed a saw we set off into the field to look for our tree. There were a few where we all paused and pondered if it was the tree for us, before mom saw one and pointed it out to us. “I think this is it,” she said happily. Elliott and I nodded in agreement, and my six foot five inches of brother got down on his stomach and cut the tree down.

He hefted it back up the hill and after we put it in the trunk of his car (yes, we had to leave the trunk open-obviously XD), we drove home and put it up in the family room. πŸ™‚

We let the tree sit for a bit to let it warm up(my mom said that this step is important…..I DID NOT KNOW THAT.)

Anyway, after my brother got home from work we decorated the tree with all of the family ornaments, each one having a different meaning. ❀

A Word A Week Photo Challenge

http://suellewellyn2011.wordpress.com/2013/12/02/a-word-a-week-photograph-challenge-shadow/

So the challenge is to actually open a dictionary to a random page and pick a word on that page and post a picture.

Don’t laugh, but I don’t actually own a paper dictionary. So I was gonna grab the closest book and do the same thing……but there were no books within reach. So I turned to my brother and said “Pick a word. Any word.”

In retrospect, probably not the smartest thing I could say to an 18 year old guy. His word: BALLS. So, here’s my picture for the word balls.

Getting the Hotel Ready for Christmas

I work at a hotel as the Sales Coordinator. Basically this means that I sell overnight rooms to large groups, and our banquet space for parties, meeting, and weddings. It’s a pretty awesome job, and I love it. ❀ This is my first year doing holiday parties, and I loved watching our banquet staff decorate the room, so I decided to post their hard work. πŸ™‚
